1. What is the WAG120N?

The WAG120N is a Wireless-N ADSL2+ Gateway.

2. What is the default IP Address, Username and Password used to login to the WAG120N? 

The default IP Address is 192.168.1.1.  The username and password is admin.

3. How can I reset the WAG120N to factory defaults?  There are two ways to reset the WAG120N to factory defaults.  Either press and hold the Reset button for approximately 30 seconds, or restore to defaults from theAdministration > Factory Defaults screen of the web-based setup page.

4. What is the warranty period length of the WAG120N?

5. Does the WAG120N support remote management?
Yes.

7. What is Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS)?

8. Which internet connection type does WAG120N support?
The WAG120N supports Internet Connection types RFC 2364 PPPoA, RFC 2516 PPPoE, RFC 1483 Routed, IPoA, RFC 1483 Bridged and Bridged Mode Only are the Internet Connection types supported.

9. What levels and types of wireless security does the WAG120N support?
The WAG120N supports WEP 64 or 128-bit, WPA/WPA2-Personal, WPA-Mixed, WPA/WAP2-Enterprise, and RADIUS.

10. Is the WAG120N a dual-band wireless-N gateway?

No, the WAG120N will only operate on 2.4 GHz.

5. What does Group Key Renewal mean?
Group Key Renewal is an added network security feature that instructs the device how often it should change encryption keys. The default is 3600 seconds.
LEDs
1. What LEDs does the WAG120N have, what are the colors, and what do the colors mean?       

POWER - Green
The Power LED lights up and stays on while the gateway is powered ON.

ETHERNET 1, 2, 3, 4 - Green
These numbered LEDs corresponding with the numbered ports on the Gateway's back panel serve two purposes.  If the LED is continuously lit, the Gateway is successfully connected to a device through that port.  It flashes to indicate network activity over that port.
 
DSL - Green
The DSL LED lights up whenever there is a successful DSL connection.  The LED flashes while the Gateway is establishing the ADSL connection.

WI -FI PROTECTED SETUP BUTTON - GreenThe WPS LED flashes when you press the button to cause Wi-Fi Protected Setup to search for your Wi-Fi Protected Setup-supported wireless device.
 
WIRELESS - Green
The Wireless LED lights up when the wireless feature is enabled.  It flashes when the Gateway is actively sending or receiving data over the network.

INTERNET - Green
The Internet LED lights up and stays on when there is a connection made through the Internet port.  It flashes to indicate network activity over the Internet port.
TROUBLESHOOTING
1. Can I Backup and Restore settings on the WAG120N? 

Yes.

2. I have a Wireless-N adapters and I don't seem to be getting the throughput when sharing files on my WLAN. I have good signal strength as well.  What could be the problem?
Make sure the gateway is using AES encryption or none at all.  If the WAG120N is using WEP or TKIP algorithms, the throughput between the gateway and the wireless device will be drastically reduced.
FIRMWARE UPGRADE METHOD
1. How do I upgrade the Firmware on the WAG120N?
On the web-based setup page, go to Administration Tab Firmware Upgrade.  Select the file to upgrade by using the browse button and then click upgrade.  Do not reset or power cycle the unit while it is upgrading.
NOTE:  Firmware upgrade should only be started with a wired connection.
SPECIAL FEATURES
1. What DDNS providers does the WAG120N support?
DynDNS.org and TZO are the DDNS service providers supported.

2. What Internet browsers can the WAG120N be used with?
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher, Firefox 1.0 or higher and Safari web browsers can be used.

3. What is Port Forwarding?
The Port Forwarding screen allows you to set up public services on your network, such as web servers, FTP servers, email servers, or other specialized Internet applications.

4. What is UPnP?
The Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) feature allows yoour computer  to automatically configure the router for various Internet applications, such as gaming and videoconferencing.

5. What is DMZ and what is it used for?
The Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) feature allows one local user to be exposed to the Internet for the use of a special-purpose service such as Internet gaming and videoconferencing.  DMZ hosting forwards all the ports at the same time to one computer.  However, Port Range Forwarding is more secure compared to DMZ because it only opens the ports you want to have opened, while DMZ hosting opens all the ports of one computer, exposing the computer to the Internet.
Yes, the WAG120N has a web-based setup page that allows the user to change the settings of the gateway without using the text command.
